  193. THE SHAREWARE CONCEPT

  195.   Shareware is software which the authors make available on a
  196.   try-before-you-buy basis. Users are required to pay for the
  197.   product by registering it, if they find it useful and intend
  198.   to use it on a regular basis.

  200.   Copying of Shareware is not only allowed, it is encouraged.
  201.   Pass copies on to interested friends and colleagues.
  202.   Shareware authors rely on making the registered version very
  203.   attractive to people who continue to use the product on a
  204.   regular basis. This is done by offering extra features,
  205.   manuals, support, removal of reminders/limits etc. for those
  206.   who pay the registration fee.

  208.   TOPline Software uses the following 2 general principles
  209.   with regard to the shareware concept:
  210.  
  211.     - The unregistered version enables TOTAL evaluation of the
  212.       capabilities of the program. Therefore there are no nasty
  213.       surprises in the registered version.
  214.  
  215.     - At the same time, through very carefully considered
  216.       limitations, the program cannot be used indefinitely for
  217.       its designed purpose. Once a user is satisfied that the
  218.       program will be suitable, registration is necessary to
  219.       enable long term use. Re-installing does not change this.
